This city has always been shaped by makers, thinkers, educators, innovators, entrepreneurs, artists, leaders, and people willing to create something meaningful with what they have. From manufacturing and machinery to healthcare, education, business, and community leadership, Rockford carries a spirit of craftsmanship, resilience, and vision.
TEDxRockford was created to honor that spirit. Not only the things we manufacture, but the ideas we engineer. The conversations we shape. The solutions we design. The future we continue building together.
Through my work in leadership development, education, organizational strategy, and community engagement, I've had the opportunity to sit alongside people carrying ideas capable of transforming organizations, communities, and lives. One thing I've learned is that some of the most powerful ideas are often built long before the world ever sees them.
And in Rockford, those ideas are everywhere.
TEDxRockford exists to create a stage for those voices, perspectives, and breakthroughs. This event is designed to bring together thinkers, creators, educators, healthcare leaders, entrepreneurs, artists, and changemakers from across our region to share ideas worth spreading and conversations worth building upon.
The phrase "Ideas Are Built Here" is more than a theme. It is a reflection of who we are. I believe every city carries a signature. Ours is creation. And my hope is that TEDxRockford becomes a symbol of what is possible when a community gathers not only to celebrate ideas, but to build them together.
